The annual Sugar Cane Festival Flower Show hosted by the Azalea Garden Club will be held September 27th-28th, 2018 at the Cyr-Gates Community Center.

Horticulture exhibits will be accepted from noon to 6:00pm on Thursday, September 27th with a limit of 20 entries per person. No horticulture will be accepted on Friday, but replacement is allowed prior to judging on Friday morning. The flower show will be open to the public from 2:00pm. – 4:00pm. on Friday, September 28th, and from 8:00am. to 4:00pm on Saturday, September 29th. All exhibits must remain on display until 4:00pm on September 29th and must be removed by 5:00pm. The show will also feature educational and design exhibits by garden club members. 

The public is encouraged to enter horticulture exhibits. Those interested can contact Millie Comeaux, Azalea Garden Club president, at 519-2555 for more information or to obtain a show directory with general and specific rules.

Another component of the show is the youth flower show. Specimens entered into the youth show must be grown by the youth.There are three categories:

  • Junior ages 5-7
  • Intermediate ages 8-12
  • High School 13-18
