The 81st Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival

September 26-29, 2024

The Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival loves to celebrate our sweet commodity, SUGAR!

How do we celebrate all things SUGAR? We have a parade, or 2, or 3! The last full weekend in September, you can find us rollin’ down Main Street in New Iberia on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!

Friday evening, we honor our farmers with the traditional Tractor Parade showcasing our parish queens. On Saturday morning we showcase our children at the Children’s Parade which is prefaced by the Sweet Harvest Car Show participants driving their entries down Main Street! On Sunday our official royalty rolls downtown honoring Queen Sugar and King Sucrose along with our parish queens representing other sugar producing parishes.

We can’t wait to see everyone on the parade route!

Parades – Offering four fantastic parades, the Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival is sure to please! On Friday the Farmers Tractor Parade features vintage farm equipment. Local school children lead our Children’s Parade Saturday morning, and the grand finale Royalty Parade glitters on Sunday with our very own Queen Sugar & King Sucrose!

Fais Do Do – Held in the Steamboat Pavillion in Bouligny Plaza, the Fais-Do-Do is a local favorite! A variety of musical acts hit the stage each festival Friday and Saturday evening featuring a variety of genres from Zydeco to Country to Cover Bands. Be sure to check out this year’s scheduled acts.

Carnival Street Fair – This long-time festival favorite event is currently being held at Bouligny Plaza in downtown New Iberia! Bring the little ones to experience a kid-friendly carnival atmosphere with rides and games.

Royalty – Join us for the Pageant & Coronation of Queen Sugar on Saturday evening as Parish Queens from sugar-producing parishes compete for the sweetest title in Louisiana!
